Zoomers are the original, benchmark, patented, short blade swim fin that promotes a smaller, faster, more propulsive kick.
Zoomers are designed to provide the ideal amount of propulsion for perfecting the swimming kick and stroke, allowing for better form over longer periods of time.
Zoomers make the legs work harder, but the smaller blade will not overload leg muscles, therefore a high level of intensity can be maintained for a longer period of time.
The additional propulsion allows the arms to cycle faster, providing the opportunity to breathe more and increase the oxygen intake needed to sustain the effort of the leg muscles. They help you avoid burnout and sustain an optimum workout level over a longer period.
SIMPLY NO SUBSTITUTE
"I’ve been training with Zoomers fins for years.
They've helped me workout very hard and become the fastest in the world.
Whether you are a beginning swimmer, fitness swimmer or record holder, Zoomers will improve your swimming."
Jeff Rouse, 1992/1996 Olympic Gold Medallist
Zoomer fins allow you to practice swimming at or above race-level speeds without being rested or shaved. For each speed in the water, there is a size of the kick that works best.
To get a great workout, you must exercise a large percentage of the body’s muscle mass at a reasonably high level of intensity for a long period of time or over a long distance. Due to the nature of swimming, swimmers often fall below this optimum level of workout, usually due to the difficulty in sustaining an efficient kick.
The kick creates propulsion that moves you forward, but each time the legs separate in the flutter kick; they create drag which slows you down. At higher speeds, the drag created can potentially cancel out the extra effort put in. A smaller kick creates less drag, but also less propulsion. Zoomers are designed to help practice and perfect this smaller kick by providing just enough extra propulsion while avoiding additional drag.
Small fin keeps feet from cramping and resolves the flip turns conflicts normally associated with fins.
RED Zoomers are for advanced competitive swimmers with flexible ankles, strong legs and a good, propulsive flutter kick when not wearing fins. Red fins are 5-6% stiffer than Blue.
Blue Zoomers are for swimmers with less effective flutter kick when not wearing fins or swimmers who don't swimevery day, but are looking for a strength-training workout.
Why do I need Zoomers?
The best for high force, high speed underwater work.
Builds leg strength and places more demand on hamstring and gluteal muscles. High speed dramatically increases water pressure on body surfaces. Swimmers can feel areas of excessive drag. This brings intuitive improvements in underwater streamlining.
Regular use increases tolerance to CO² and Lactate. Additional leg muscle use brings consistently higher heart rates. Additional leg propulsion = higher stroke rates. That means more breaths (more O²) per minute = higher work loads.
The real work horse in the pool, and they are safe.
Patented Quick Response technology promotes a shorter faster kick.
How to select the correct size and colour?
The Best way to choose: Red vs. Blue based on the efficiency of the flutter kick: If you make good to excellent forward progress when kicking flutter kick on a kick board, or if you are able to keep your flutter kick active continuously when swimming many laps of crawl stroke, then you have a good, efficient kick. The Red Zoomers fin is the best choice.
If you make very poor progress on a kick board, or when swimming crawl stroke, if you tend to drag your legs or use a two-beat kick, then your kick is not very efficient. The Blue Zoomers fin is best for you.
What makes a kick good? First, it has very little to do with intelligence, knowledge, or coordination. The difference between a good kick and a poor kick is primarily due to how far the feet flex forward. Forward flexing of the foot is called plantar flexion.
